It is a strange, rather perverse story.
It is a story about us, people,
being persuaded
to spend money we don’t have
on things we don’t need
to create impressions that don’t last
on people we don’t care about!

While looking for sources, I’ve found the Stock Exchange of Visions. What a nice concept, have a look at it. Several speakers give their opinion or ideas in videos on different visions. After each statement, you the viewer can agree or disagree or share your opinion in a forum. I hope William McDonough and Michael Braungart will be invited to share their vision here soon.

Anyway, have a look at what Herman Daly for example has to say about Natural Resources, Energy, and Growth. Note that Daly mentions efficiency, instead of eco-effectiveness, when he talks about Design.
